Fair board member James Calhoun paints the old schoolhouse building at the fairgrounds in Barnum. He said he was excited and relieved the fair is coming back this year. "It's great to have it back, I think the people need this and they want to get back to normal the best they can," he said.
Carlton County fair manager Lindsey Larson is excited to bring back the fair after it was canceled due to the pandemic last year. They are taking some pandemic precautions, she said, including more hand washing stations. Masks are optional so far. Despite taking over in 2020, this will be Larson's first fair.
