Obituary: Marietta Erickson

Marietta Erickson, 83, of Cloquet passed away Oct. 6, 2021, at North Shore Estates in Duluth. She was born Jan. 31, 1938, in St. Paul, the daughter of Stanley and Evelyn (Kurkoski) Wresh. She was united in marriage to Leonard Erickson in May of 1981.

Marietta was an avid artist and did wood paintings. She was active for more than 30 years with art and craft fairs. She was well-known and one of the first artists at many local and regional annual events. Her work is visible, as she did the murals at the Esko High School gymnasium. Marietta was a former president of the Northland Arts and Crafts Guild, member of the Esko Women's Investment Club, the Red Hat Society, and TOPS. She enjoyed photography, coin collecting, and digital photography with her computer.

Marietta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; and brother Stan Wresh. She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Baker and Renee (Scott) Muscovitz; sons, Rick Lain and Randy (Chris) Lain; brother Fred (Betty) Wresh; sisters, Diana Trost and Judy Campbell; grandchildren, Corey, Brandon, Kaycee, Brittany and Trevor; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Beckett, Daylen and Brayden; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Marietta will be held 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, followed by refreshments in the fellowship room. See the online guestbook at http://www.nelsonfuneral care.net.
