Obituary: Naomi J. Brigan

Naomi J. Brigan, 86, of Cloquet died Dec 13, 2021, at home with her loving family by her side. Naomi was born June 9, 1935, in Dayton, Oregon to Raymond and Margaret Brigan. She grew up near Park Lake in Mahtowa.

Naomi was a lifelong Christian, leaning on Christ for guidance and comfort. She served Him with leadership roles in St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Cloquet, spearheading the program for developmentally challenged children and adults. In later years, she was active with the Celebrate Recovery program at Moose Lake's Evangelical Covenant Church. She enjoyed being a mom and grandma. She loved to spend time painting, playing her organ, writing poetry, and traveling. Some of her paintings will be displayed at her memorial.

Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Margaret; her brother Raymond; and son-in-law, Denny Randelin. She is survived by her children, Becky Randelin, Dan (Kim) Simula, and Erik (Dawn) Simula; her siblings Alfred Brigan, Arlene Dobson and Bea Grangruth; grandchildren, Kyle (Camile), Benjamin (Kirby Jo), Anna, Ginny (Mike) and Sherry (Tim); 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of gifts or flowers, she would be honored by a gift to the Sunshine Closet in Moose Lake, Moose Lake Evangelical Covenant Church or Good Hope Church of Cloquet.

Visitation: 11 a.m. until the 12 p.m. funeral service Monday, Dec. 20 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship room. Spring inurnment service will be in the Mount Salem Cemetery in Mahtowa.
