Obituary: Judith Kay Holden

Judith Kay Holden passed away March 27, 2022, peacefully in Arizona. She was born Feb. 15, 1945, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Maynard and Mildred Klenk.

Judy grew up in Easton on the family farm. She graduated from Wells High School, Class of ’63, and was a member of the National Honor Society. She continued her education, receiving a bachelor of science degree in social work as well as master’s degrees in social work and business. She worked in many settings including hospitals, private care facilities, county social service, and ended her career as director of health and human services for Carlton County.

Judy was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Carlton. She enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, traveling, cooking, playing cards and, most of all, spending time with her family.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents Maynard and Mildred, sister Sharon, and niece Dawn.

She will be so missed by her husband of 55 years, John; sons Mike (Lynn), Chris (Keri) and Nate (Trista); nieces Deb, Darcy and DeAnn; and grandchildren Ben, Emily and Addison.

A celebration of life will be held this summer in Carlton.
