The community celebrated 102 years of Esko schools last week, culminating with Saturday's parade and a street dance that evening, along with assorted reunion gatherings Friday and Saturday.
Esko added a whole new layer to its annual Esko Fun Days celebration, by inviting every single graduate of the 102-year-old school to come back next week for an all-school reunion.
Work toward organizing the reunion and school centennial actually began a few years ago, because the school opened in 1920. "Then Covid struck," said Maggie Sunnarborg.
So they decided that celebrating the centennial a couple years later was fine too, and made plans to bring together as many graduates as possible for the various community events, setting aside Friday night for class mixers, with a couple spilling over into Saturday. Events culminated Saturday, starting with a race, followed by the parade and a street dance that evening.
