Cloquet High School teachers Sara Prosen, family and consumer science, and Rene Montgomery, English, are greeted by Sam Haus as they receive bags of donated school supplies Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Moose Lodge 1274 on Cloquet Avenue. Members of the service-based club held a cookout for teachers and handed out 150 bags filled with school supplies.

Teachers were the focus Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the Moose Lodge. The project to feed and outfit teachers with supplies was a $3,000 effort, said event coordinator Patti Haus (not pictured). Last year, the Moose donated backpacks to students, but since the United Way and others were doing that this year, "We decided, 'Let's help teachers!'" Patti said. The Moose enjoyed a banner summer, she added, with contributing projects from May to July worth $20,000.
