Obituary: Mildred Ann "Millie" Coleman

Mildred Ann "Millie" Coleman, 83, of Cloquet passed away on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, in Barnes Care in Esko. Millie was born on Aug. 12, 1939, in Cloquet to Martin and Jennie Kotiranta. She was raised on a farm 8 miles west of Cloquet. She attended the Jefferson, Leach and junior and high schools in Cloquet.

Millie worked as a secretary in Sioux City, Nebraska. When she moved back to the Cloquet area she sold Avon and was a Tupperware manager. She was the secretary of the Carlton County Historical Society for six years. She was active in the Foster Grandparent Program in Cloquet.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Earland Grangruth; son Wendall Scott; second husband, Charles Coleman; daughter Jennifer Martineau; grandsons Joshua Greensky, Darryk Martineau, Daven Martineau and Kandin Coleman; granddaughter Candice Grangruth; and brothers, Allen and Ervin Kotiranta.

She will be missed by her children Wade Grangruth, Dawn (Kyle) Hammitt, Patrick Grangruth, and Vickie Lynn Coleman; sister, Clara Korkala; grandchildren Renee, Andrea, Jess, Alyssa, Angela, Amber, Natassja, Annika, Grayson, Jarren, Samantha, Chandra and Dane; many great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation: 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service Sunday, Jan. 15 in Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet. A luncheon will follow the service.
