Charlene Hazel Hagen, 86, of Carlton passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, in Inter-Faith Care Center. She was born in Cloquet on Feb. 28, 1936, to John and Helen Maki. Charlene attended Leach School and graduated from Cloquet High School in 1954. Charlene married Dwayne Hagen in July of 1957.
Charlene worked at Wood Service Co., which later became Hagens Glass and Paint, where she enjoyed helping customers pick out paint and wallpaper. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cloquet, where she was active in church circles and bible studies. She was also a member of the Red Hat Ladies and sewing club. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and visiting with friends and relatives.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Dwayne, and grandson, Anthony Thomas Hagen.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, Jeffrey Hagen, Thomas Hagen and Mark (Susan) Hagen, and granddaughters, Kaylee Hagen and Amy Pedersen.
The family would like to thank the staff of Evergreen Knoll, Inter-Faith Care Center and St. Croix Hospice for their care of Charlene.
Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Tuesday, March 14 in Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet. A luncheon will follow the service in the Fireside Room of the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cloquet.
