Starting this fall, the multimedia production program at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College will award a $2,500 scholarship to five students each semester, made possible by the college’s new partnership with NBCU Academy.
To receive a scholarship, a student must be registered as a full-time student. Preference will be given to students with a high current GPA. The deadline to apply is Aug. 1 at link.fdltcc.edu/NBCU-Scholarship.
NBCU is a journalism and content creation training program that builds a pipeline from classrooms to the newsroom and media industry; helps professional journalists develop new skills; and offers free online training and digital content as well as hands-on programs at select campuses and in NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC and Telemundo newsrooms.
The multimedia production program at FDLTCC offers three options: a certificate (16 credits), diploma (31 credits), and associate of applied science (60 credits). Students receive hands-on experience with the latest recording equipment, production apps, and have access to the Ojibwemowining Digital Arts and Storytelling Studio. In the program, students develop skills across a variety of multimedia production disciplines including photography, audio, video, computer animation and writing for media.
