The Carlton community is beginning to buzz with excitement as plans are being finalized for the annual community celebration. Circle July 28-29-30 on your calendar and come out to gather with family and friends for fun, food and live music for Carlton Daze at the Carlton VFW and the Third Base Bar. Don’t forget the parade at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 30. Live music will be provided by Stranded on July 28 and by Vinyl Recliner on July 29.

Four Seasons Sports Complex & Event Center board meets at 7 p.m. on July 19.

Wanted: volunteers to make mats out of clean plastic shopping bags for those in need. The Bethesda Mat Makers meet 9-11 a.m. Tuesdays at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Carlton. If you are unable to volunteer on Tuesdays, contact Mary Saarela for instructions on how you can work from home. Bethesda Lutheran Church is collecting for a cause: pop tops off aluminum cans for the Ronald McDonald House; brown paper grocery bags for a nonprofit thrift store; and new greeting cards for Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton Place and Pine View Apartments residents to use.
