Obituary: Dennis M. Randa

Dennis M. Randa, 82, of Loma Rica, California and formerly of Cloquet, passed away Sept. 3, 2023, at the Bridgeview Post Acute facility in Yuba City, California.

Dennis was born Feb. 19, 1941, in Duluth, the son of Walter and Vivian (Kvisto) Randa. Dennis married Carol Rosbacka on June 3, 1961.

Dennis worked at the Duluth and Northeastern Railroad in Cloquet for many years. He loved spending time with his family and friends, camping, going to the casino and watching TV. Dennis and Carol enjoyed camping trips and traveling to many places in their motorhome over the years.

Dennis had a great sense of humor and a personality that drew others to him. He had a joking nature with everyone and especially with children, who were drawn to him. Dennis was a very special man who left an impact on many lives, and he will be greatly missed by all. His smile, laughter and love for others will live in our hearts forever.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; father- and mother-in-law, Wilbert and Helen Rosbacka; wife, Carol, son Todd; son-in-law Ronald Bober; granddaughter Nicole; siblings Wally, Jack, Dolly, Judy (Clinton) and Nancy; and brother-in-law Roger Nyberg.

Dennis is survived by his children Vickie (Paul) Logan, Tammy Randa and Terry Bober; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; siblings Bobo (Kay) Randa, Dick (Sue) Randa and Cooky Nyberg; in-laws Beanie Randa, Roger Lund, Ronnie Rosbacka, Roy (Debbie) Rosbacka, Wayne (Linda) Rosbacka and Debra (Rich) Anderson; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Dennis will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cloquet, with an hourlong visitation before the service. Fellowship and lunch to follow.
