Carlton Happenings

There were two events the past couple of months in the Carlton Community. One was the Gigantic Garage Sale, sponsored by the Carlton VFW Auxiliary/Post 2962. Thirty-nine volunteers and groups from the Challenge Incarceration Program set up tables and for-sale items for the two-day sale at the Four Seasons Complex in Carlton. There were 102 deliveries of donated items by surrounding community members. The $12,480 raised is used by the auxiliary and post for their programs and improvements to the VFW.

The other big event was the trick-or-treat in downtown Carlton this past Saturday. Even though the weather was a bit chilly, 30 businesses and local groups braved the elements to decorate tables, put on their best costumes and hand out treats to almost 1,000 kids. Thank you to everyone who participated in this event. Also thank you to the groups who created scarecrows up and down the main street.
