Margaret Mell, 95, of Cloquet passed away peacefully on Friday, April 5, 2024.

“Muggs” will be most remembered for her tireless and devoted years spent rescuing, caring for, and finding homes for our community’s stray and neglected animals.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Mell; and is survived by a sister, Ruby (Dick) Heikkinen; six daughters, Katherine (Bob) Winkler, Susan (Bruce) Anderson, Christine (Steve) Borgeson, Wendy Mell, Donna Mell, and Karen (Paul) Draeger; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

A Celebration of Life will be held in early summer. Arrangements by Atkins Northland Funeral Home in Cloquet.
