Irene Louise Loisel
1930–2018
Irene L. Loisel, age 88 of Cloquet, passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at New Perspective Senior Living. She was born Aug. 17, 1930 in Wrenshall, Minn. to John and Hilda (Nelson) Johnson and graduated valedictorian from Wrenshall High School.
Irene was united in marriage to Leo Loisel on March 1, 1952. She worked as a bookkeeper for Prindle Jones Insurance, Cloquet Co-op, and the Johnson Company. Irene loved needlepoint sewing, embroidery, gardening veggies and flowers, and traveling all over the west. She was also a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leo and all her siblings.
She is survived by her children: Stanley (Victoria) Loisel, Susan (Robert) Jackson, Todd (Dawn) Loisel, Kevin (Jan) Loisel, and Craig (Kari) Loisel; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Anna Mae Loisel, Donna Loisel and Charlene Loisel; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Raymond and Jennette Loisel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 7 from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. Lunch reception to follow in the fellowship room. Nelson Funeral Care assisted the family with final arrangements.
Travis J. Butenhoff, 29, of Duluth, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018. Visitation was scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 6, at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet.

Florence Strandberg, 88, Cloquet, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 in Cloquet. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet.

Roy Herbert Lampela, 89, Cloquet, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018. Visitation is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Two Harbors.

Dorothy C. Nelson, 93, of Bruno, died Sunday, Dec. 2, in Augustana Care Center. Visitation is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, followed by service at 3:30 p.m. at Memorial Drive Bible Fellowship Church in Askov.

Gary A. Pastika, 64, of Cloquet, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2018 in Duluth. Visitation is scheduled from noon until the 1 p.m. service on Saturday, Dec. 8 in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home in Cloquet.

Susan Joan Leonard, 66, of Esko passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018 in Duluth. Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 followed by services at noon at the United Lutheran Church in Proctor.

Duane “Dewey” Hewitt Davis, 98, of Mahtowa passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018. Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday, Dec. 7 in Salem Lutheran Church in Mahtowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Moose Lake Food Shelf.
