Get paid to stay at home

The Legislature is considering a proposal to make Minnesota employers of a certain size keep employees on the payroll, even while they are taking family leave.
Essentially, the proposal would allow workers to continue to get paid while they are on leave for family and medical emergencies. This makes some sense, because most workers dedicate their work life to their jobs; they expect to spend most of their day, five days a week, year after year, doing their jobs. In exchange, the employer pays them a salary of some kind, either by the hour or by the year, in installments every couple of week...
