Obituary: Erwin Charles Shaw

Erwin “Chuck” Shaw, 83, of Carlton passed away at Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet on Dec. 14, 2020. He was born Sept. 8, 1937 in Richville to Milton and Clara (Butler) Shaw.

Chuck was a diesel mechanic and over-the-road truck driver. He was a member of the Cloquet Moose Lodge 1274 for 52 years. Chuck enjoyed camping with his wife, Shirley, at Bent Trout Lake Campground and spending time with his family, and coffee and fun with his Pineview friends.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Shirley; five brothers; five brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.

He is survived by his son, Chuck (Patty) Shaw; daughter, Diana (Jeff) Mundell; four grandchildren, Charity (Ryan) Kaspari, Jeremy (Jamie) Kroll, Joe (Joanna) Prachar and Jamie (Neil) Rossing; eight great-grandchildren, Lexi, Jonah, Shae, Jeret, Levi, Blake, Autumn, and Allie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family requests a special thank-you to the doctors, nurses, and nurses’ aides at Community Memorial Hospital.

Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, April 17 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, followed by a luncheon at the Cloquet Moose Club. Masks and social distancing are required. The funeral may be heard on 91.1 FM from the funeral home parking lot.
