Obituaries: Audre Mowers Goranson

Audre (Mowers) Goransondied on Aug. 16, 2021. She was born in Duluth on July 6, 1927, to Alice and Earnest Mowers, the first of five children. Audre attended school and church in the Lester Park area and played first cello at East Junior High.

When Audre was 14 the Mowers family moved to a dairy farm in Cromwell. ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Audre graduated from Cromwell High School. In 1945 she married Gilbert Goranson and they raised their five children in Wright. Gilbert preceded her in death. Audre is survived by her children, Bradley (Corky) Goranson in Columbia Heights, Brenda (John) Hoden in Colorado Springs, Bruce in Wright, Brent (Tracey) in Cromwell, and Byron (Jenny) in Carlton; and 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express appreciation to the staff at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, where Audre lived for nearly seven years, and also to St. Croix Hospice.

Visitation: 12 p.m. until the 1 p.m. memorial service Friday, Sept. 3 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wright. A lunch reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wright and Cromwell United Methodist in Cromwell would be appreciated. Both churches ministered to Audre and family throughout the years.
