The scarecrow judging in Cromwell was done earlier this week. First place in the kids category was awarded for Egg Farmers by the Zimmer family.
First place in the adult category going to Sponge Bob Squarepants at the Cromwell Medical Clinic.
The medallion hunt was new to Cromwell's Harvest Festival this year and after just two daily clues, the disc worth $100 was found Tuesday by Samantha Hansen and Matt Holm.
Head to Cromwell to celebrate the Harvest Festival Friday through Sunday, Sept. 10-12.
There will be scarecrows found across the city; they were judged for their creativity this week.
Tonight there is a steak and hot dog feed, with ice cream cones available for dessert. A dance begins at 7 p.m. Food and craft vendors will be in the city park 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The Class of 1953 will reunite at the pavilion. A volleyball tournament starts at 9 a.m. A parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. The high school band will play at a 9/11 remembrance at noon, with a pie social following.
Other Saturday fun includes a corn hole tournament, kids' games and scavenger hunt, music, and a dance at the muni.
