Yoga class will meet at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec 20 and 27 at the pavilion. $3 per session covers gear and Pavilion rental. Questions taken by Ann Markusen, 218-428-3300.

Please stop in the week of Dec. 18 for customer appreciation treats at the Farmers Co-op in Wright. We’ll have cookies, coffee, and hot chocolate. The store appreciates all the local business from all around the area.

The Women of Bethlehem’s annual Christmas bazaar, brunch and bake sale Dec. 11 was a big success, thanks to all the donations, workers, and the folks who attended and made purchases. About a dozen cookie tins were packed for those needing them. Thank you all for your support.

There will not be a Christmas family night this year at the Villa Vista/Cardinal Court due to Covid-19 concerns. Sharry Waldriff will provide special music at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 17, and more music is planned for the rest of December. Fully vaccinated folks can still visit.

The YOT Senior dances at the Cromwell Pavilion will resume the fourth Thursday of the month starting in January 2022.

Gift donations are requested for the residents of the Villa Vista/Cardinal Court this year. Gift suggestions include books, newspaper subscriptions, magazines, goodie baskets, popcorn tins, word games, 300- to 500-piece puzzles, small radio or CD player, satin night hats for ladies, jewelry, candies, diabetic candies, shirts or leggings, cough drops, room decorations, pillows, blankets. I still have several copies of Margaret Webster’s books for sale — they make great Christmas gifts. Unwrapped gifts need to be dropped off by Sunday, Dec. 19. Gift wrap is also needed. Due to an increase in cases of Covid-19 in the Floodwood school building, the district has transitioned to distance learning. In-person learning will resume after Jan. 2.

There will be a blood drive 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17 at the Cromwell-Wright school. Please contact school nurse Cheryl Metcalf to set up a time to donate, 218-644-3716 ext. 4138. The school’s Christmas programs will be held 6 p.m. Dec. 20 for the high school groups and 6 p.m. Dec. 21 for the elementary. Early release is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22; buses depart 1:10 p.m. Volunteers are needed for playground duty. Call the school if you can help. School resumes Jan. 3.

Mark your calendars and plan on joining us for a New Year’s Eve celebration at the Cromwell Park Pavilion. There will be live music by The River Hill Rangers, hors d’oeuvres, a champagne toast and dancing. Dress: semiformal. Cover charge $10 per person, must be 21 or older. Those interested in being designated drivers can volunteer at the Cromwell Area Community Club Facebook page.

Sympathies to the family of Gloria Jean Homstad, 70, of Cromwell, who passed away Dec. 5 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. She was a member of Evangelical Free Church in Wright.

Our sympathies to the family of Riley Jon Roe, 33 of Cloquet, who passed away Dec. 2 in Cromwell, after a 10-year battle with bipolar disorder. Riley will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
