Obituary: Lincoln Peter Hansen

Lincoln Peter Hansen, 94, of Cromwell passed away Friday, April 15, 2022 at Villa Vista in Cromwell. He was born on March 15, 1928 in Cloquet to Hans Peter and Ruth Hansen. He grew up in Cromwell and graduated from Cromwell High School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army from October 1954 to October 1956. On January 5, 1955, he married Marilyn Jean Maki at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell.

Lincoln and Jeanne lived in Texas while he was in the service, then moved back to Cromwell where they lived for the rest of their lives. Lincoln worked at International Multifoods as a grain miller. He was an active member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell, a proud member of the DAV and a fire warden. He was an avid Twins fan and always kept up with the local high school sports teams. He enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, and making wooden lawn decorations. Lincoln was a friend to everyone he met and always had a joke to share.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marilyn; son Stuart; and son-in-law Bill Rowell.

Lincoln will be missed by his children Reece (Janet) Hansen and Karee Rowell (Tim Albright); grandchildren Mindy (Jer) Hoover, Mason (Stephanie) Hansen, Tara (Rachel) Hansen and Thomas (April) Hansen; great-grandchildren Emmalee, Levi, Augustus, Hannah, Lincoln and Grady; one brother, Laird (Julie Ann); sister-in-law Kathie Sarkela; brother-in-law Pete (Eileen) Maki; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, May 4 in Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell. A luncheon will follow the service. A private family burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Cromwell at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet.
