Fire destroys Barnum home

A fire Saturday night destroyed a Barnum home and garage Friday night.

According to a news release from the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office, Carlton County dispatch got a call reporting a garage fire at 8:38 p.m. Friday, May 14 on the 3700 block of Hilltop View Road in Barnum Township. Upon responding, deputies learned that a vehicle had caught on fire while inside the attached garage.

The fire spread from the garage to the house. Although it was eventually contained, the garage and the home were a total loss. There were no injuries and all occupants of the house made it out safely. The cause...
