Mayor Sharon Zelazny reports that the city of Cromwell is ready for the Minnesota Highway 210 and Highway 73 project that started May 24. There are four phases: the north side of Highway 210, east of the intersection; the south side; the south side by the school; and finally, the north side across from school. There will be no parking on 210. They are looking to find parking for the post office.

Park bids and utility bids were opened May 17. Utilities around town will be addressed, including eliminating the mound near Lippo Lane by running sewer lines to that area. North Alley paving is delayed because the sewer line needs to run under the railroad. The parking lot for the Muni will be paved, along with North Alley; South Alley will not be redone in this project due to funding. Park renovations will start as soon as possible.

Mayor Zelazny discussed the Minnesota Highway 73 project 8 miles south of Cromwell at the state capitol with Sen. Jason Rarick, Dan Reed and Jeff Dotseth. It is now in the governor’s bonding bill as a top priority, and on the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s project list.

That’s all the news from “The Edge of Wright.” Remember to check for wood ticks — I got my first one on May 15 and am still itching and scratching.
