Obituary: Walter Roginski Jr.

Walter Roginski Jr., 96, of Esko passed away Sept. 27, 2022. He was born May 26, 1926, in Duluth, the son of Hazel (Merling) and Walter Roginski Sr. Walter attended school at Denfeld and proudly served in the U.S. Navy on submarines. He was united in marriage to Ann Gubilee on Nov. 24, 1945, and together they owned the Coast to Coast Hardware in Chisholm, and a convenience store in Side Lake for several years. He also worked at Diamond Calk, U.S. Steel and Walmart. Walter was a lifetime member of the Elks Club, the VFW and the Masonic Lodge.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ann, of 68 years; children James and Joy Ann Roginski; and brothers Gerald and Alan Roginski. He is survived by his brother Bennett (Lynne) Roginski; sister Janet (Bill) Orescanin; grandsons Barry (Leslie) Roginski and their children Makayla and Ryan, and Neal (Kelly) Berry and their son James; his friends Joni and Michael Lindig; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.

Visitation: Noon until the 1 p.m. memorial service Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, followed by Military Honors presented by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard.
