A hometown newspaper with a local office, local owners & lots of local news

Wright/Cromwell News

It is with a heavy heart that I write this week’s news column. My husband of 52 years, Bob Hanson, died Oct. 1 in our home with me by his side. He had been bedridden for the past few months and was surely ready to go, but the reality of his passing is just starting to set in. We will have a memorial service this coming weekend. (See Bob’s obituary on Page 16 for details).

This is also the anniversary of the first news column I wrote for the papers on Oct. 2, 1982. I started writing for the weekly papers and over these past years have taken over the columns for Kai Kelly Kent (Tamarack News), Eva Alberg (Cromwell News), and Helen Benson, (Wright News), and now I have combined the area’s news into the Wright-Cromwell News and named my column, “The Edge of Wright.” I always say I write the “Wright News” and the “Wrong News” as there are times when mistakes are made. Anyway, thanks to all my publishers and followers over the years for their contributions and dedication to these columns.

This week’s Riddle: What can you hold in your left hand, but not in your right?

That’s all the news from The Edge of Wright.
