Competition turned to camaraderie June 20 at Wade Stadium in Duluth as the Polar League held its softball and baseball all-star games with players selected from league teams. In softball, Team Blue had a three-run sixth inning to put away Team Silver 5-1. In the baseball game, Team Haugen/Weber (coaches Ben Haugen of Esko and Aaron Weber of South Ridge) defeated Team Levinski (Cromwell-Wright coach Dean Levinski) 16-4. Five days earlier, Esko did the league proud by winning the Class AA state baseball tournament. Levinski a Cloquet grad, is now retired from coaching baseball.
