Obituary: Kurt Leslie Nelson

Kurt L. Nelson, 58, of Duluth, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at his home. He was born July 11, 1964, in Cloquet, the son of Kenneth and Gladys (Konsti) Nelson. Kurt graduated from Cloquet High School in 1982.

He worked for Potlatch and Sappi in Cloquet for more than 33 years.

Kurt enjoyed hunting and fishing and working on small engines.

He grew up attending and was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cloquet.

Kurt was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Nelson; niece, Kacey Davey; and best friend, Calvin "Jay" Crotteau. He is survived by his mother, Gladys Nelson; two sisters, Gail (Earl) Ulvi and Gina (Lee) Seguin; nephews, Darrell (Emily) Davey and Douglas (Cora) Seguin; niece, Hailey (Adam) Graves; his former wife, Rhonda Johnson; stepsons, Jacob (Katie) Johnson and Dakota (Amber) Johnson; and two daughters, Jessica Pribbenow and Andrea Motz.

A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 10 until the 2 p.m. memorial service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, followed by refreshments in the church social hall. Inurnment service will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
