Dale Raymond Frones, 74, died Sept. 5, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth. He was born on Sept. 30, 1948, in Duluth, the son of Raymond H. and Dorothy (Kendzora) Frones.
Dale graduated from Denfeld High School, the Class of 1966. Following graduation, he worked as a lineman for Minnesota Power for 40 years. During that time, he served in the Air National Guard for nine years, graduated from Fond du Lac College with honors, worked part-time as a jailor for Carlton County, and was a member of the Carlton County Mounted Posse for 10 years.
Dale married Sally (Fenske) Frones, and they celebrated 52 years of marriage on their horse farm in Blackhoof Township.
Dale will be greatly missed by many friends and family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Sally, is their daughter, Ashley Frones of Cloquet; and sister, Barbara Cavanaugh of Eveleth.
Memorials to wildcatsanctuary.org are preferred. At his request, there will be no services.
