With the leaves turning color and with cooler days and nights, we know that fall is truly in the air. Folks are busy getting their yards ready for winter and planting all those bulbs so we have flowers in the spring. The apple trees have produced bumper crops in many areas, so lots of pies and crisps will be enjoyed this fall too.

Congratulations to Gary Lott and Shauna Buelt of Wright on their recent marriage on Sept. 23, 2023. They were married underneath the trees beneath a canopy in their backyard in Wright, with Gary’s uncle Lee Goodin officiating. A wonderful reception was held at the Big Top after the ceremony. The food was great.

Annual Cromwell-Wright junior class prom fundraiser: Get your Butter Braid pastry snacks. Connect with your favorite junior class member or the school office to order. Must pay at the time of order. Orders will be taken until

Oct. 10. Butter Braids will be delivered to the school on Nov. 1. They cost $15 each.

Elementary picture day is on Oct. 3, high school picture day is Oct. 4, and makeup picture day will be Oct. 26.

Cromwell-Wright high school students will hold a breast cancer awareness silent auction at the school on

Oct. 12 during a volleyball game. They are in need of basket donations, which can be brought to the school by Oct. 11.

The last YOT dance for the year will be held on Oct. 26, with music by Florian Chmielewski.

The Kettle River Conference Women of the ELCA fall gathering will be held on Sept. 30 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Myrna Kempi Wells Ulland will be the guest speaker. Lunch will be served for a $10 donation.

The Women of Bethlehem Lutheran in Wright will be having their rummage sale on Oct. 6 and 7, so you can start collecting your donations. Be sure the items are in good condition and still usable.

Cromwell-Wright middle school students are fundraising for their July 25-28 trip to Washington, D.C. Donations can be sent to the Cromwell-Wright School, PO Box 7, Cromwell MN 55726. Put “Washington Trip” on the memo line.

Thanks to my faithful readers, I was able to talk to Sue Weets and will get my vanilla soon. Nothing like real vanilla for baking chocolate chip cookies.

I will soon be undergoing radiation as a precaution in my breast cancer treatment. I’m hoping all goes well.
