Daniel F. Pantsar, 78, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023. He was the youngest child of Emil and Vieno Pantsar, born on June 23, 1945, in Cloquet, MN. He attended Esko Public Schools, graduating in 1963. During the teen years, his brother Jim piqued Dan’s interest in archery and at the age of thirteen he became the MN State Junior Archery Champion. He continued to win awards in the more skilled Men’s Division, as well. His interest also piqued when a sweet junior high school high girl, Janet Juntunen, caught his eye. She became his wife on September 19, 1964. They were married for 54 years and were blessed with two sons.

Ray Wirtz gave Dan his first job at the local gas station. For a short time he was hired at Meadowbrook Dairy. Northwest Paper Mill employed him for ten years. Then he entered the building/construction trade where he eventually supervised the designing of precast concrete forms for Del Zotto Products until his retirement.

Dan was a hardworking problem solver, generous and always willing to lend a hand. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Dan volunteered for 20 years as an Esko Fireman/First Responder and was a member of the Esko Senior Citizens, Esko Historical Society, and Esko Apostolic Lutheran Church.

He is survived by sons Keith and Tom (Angie); grandchildren, Bailey, Lindsay, Derek, Travis, Rachel, and Ryan; sisters, Verna Flynn, Ethel Lewis, and Edie Blazevic; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
