The Villa Vista/Cardinal Court Family Night is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 6. All area folks are all welcome to attend and bring your children, as Santa will make an appearance bearing gifts. Sharry Waldriff will be the guest entertainer. This is always a great way to show your support for the residents, staff, and volunteers at this time of year.
I’m sorry to report that our good friend, Tom Donohue, 80, passed away in his sleep on Nov. 25, 2023, at the Cardinal Court in Cromwell. There will be a gathering of friends in December.

Our own Myrna (Kempi) Wells-Ulland was recently elected president of the churchwide Women of the ELCA at the Triennial convention in Phoenix, Arizona. Myrna grew up in Cromwell, and she will be a great churchwide president! She took over from Joy Michalicek who is from our Kettle River Conference. So, our women are making their mark on the churchwide leadership.
With Christmas just around the corner, there are some deadlines for mailing gifts. The USPS domestic mailing deadline is Dec. 16, Priority Mail is Dec. 18 and Priority Mail Express is Dec. 20. So, get those cards and packages sent soon for on-time delivery.
Remember that Judy and Bill Haapoja entertain at the Villa Vista on the last Monday of the month at 6 p.m.
Got your Christmas tree up yet? I do, but that’s because I haven’t taken it down from last year yet. I used to think my Uncle Einar was lazy because he would just haul his decorated tree upstairs after Christmas and bring it down again the next year, but now I’m worse than that by leaving it up all year, although it’s only about 4 feet tall. It looks good all year-round. Age and health do some interesting things, don’t they?
That’s all the news from the Edge of Wright. Have a great week.
