Ruby June Simon passed away at the age of 74 on December 31, 2023, at her home in Cloquet.
Ruby was born Jan. 18, 1949, to Walter and Ruby (Larson) Olson in International Falls, Minnesota. She grew up in International Falls and was one of nine children. Ruby attended Holler Elementary School and graduated from Falls High School.
Ruby was united in marriage to Rodney “Si” Simon in July of 1968 and together they had
three children, Mindi, Niki, and Sevon. They made their home in International Falls. Ruby
worked as a secretary at Falls High School and as an office manager at the Falls Motel.
Ruby and Si later relocated to Cloquet, Minnesota to be closer to their grandchildren. Ruby was an avid fan of the International Falls Hockey team and later loved watching her grandkids in an array of sports in Cloquet. She would commonly be found at the hockey rink, baseball field, at the Cloquet High School gym and track.
Ruby is survived by her children, Mindi (Jamie) Pollard of Cloquet, Niki (Justin) Harriman
of Cloquet, and Sevon (Jolen) Simon of International Falls; grandchildren, Cooper (Jenna)
Grashorn, Keelee Grashorn, Bella Harriman and Bo Harriman; great-grandchildren,
Lakelynn and Huxton Grashorn; siblings, Margaret Leali and Ted Olson; many grand
puppies; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Simon; her parents; and siblings, Danny, Larry, Tommy, Judy, Patty, and Susie.
Per Ruby’s wishes, no services will be held. Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet.
