Obituary: David Chapin Langmo

David Chapin Langmo, 45, of Cloquet passed away on Dec. 30, 2023. David was born in Willmar, Minnesota on July 9, 1978, to Michael and Debra (Chapin) Langmo.

In 1996, David completed his high school education at Litchfield High School and subsequently earned an associate degree from Lake Superior College in 2004. Continuing his academic journey, he pursued a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth, graduating in 2011.

Over the course of a fulfilling career, David dedicated a decade to Sappi in Cloquet as an electrical engineer, followed by two years at LHB. His professional achievements included obtaining certification as a Master Electrician and Professional Engineer in electrical and computer power.

Beyond his professional pursuits, David found joy in playing the bass guitar, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. His cherished moments were spent alongside his best friend and wife, Linsey, and their children, Kari and Evan. The family often enjoyed the serenity of their cabin retreat in Ely, creating lasting memories together. David's legacy extends beyond his professional accomplishments, encompassing the warmth of his family bonds and the shared love for music and nature.

David was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Shirley Chapin; paternal grandmother, Jean Langmo; and uncle Bruce Chapin. He is survived by his wife, Linsey; daughter, Kari; son, Evan; parents, Mike and Deb; parents-in-law, Jim and Nancy Weisinger; paternal grandfather, Jim (Edna) Langmo; sister-in-law, Amanda (Chad) Cherne; brothers-in-law, Kirk (Katrina) Weisinger, and Kyle (Meghan) Weisinger; aunts and uncles Mike (Deb Mikelson) Chapin, Candy (Steve) Fox, and Michelle Langmo; nieces and nephews, Sophia, Ian and Logan Cherne, Mya, Isabelle and Dominic Weisinger, and Kyla and Kolton Weisinger; cousins, Patrick (Sara) Chapin, Krystal Chapin (Jeremy Hilker), Dylan (Martha) Chapin, Anna Chapin, Sara (Brandon) Levy, and Lindzy Fox; and many special friends.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. Visitation will continue at 12 p.m. until the 1 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, Jan. 13 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
