Don’t you hate it when you put something in a safe place, so you don’t lose it … then you forget where that place is? Well, I solved that problem. I leave a note in the original place, telling me where the new place is. It works every time.

Congratulations to Jo and Len Schnieder, who were crowned queen and king at the Villa Vista Valentines dance.

Two weeks ago, the Lakeside Quilters of Tamarack gave Quilts of Valor to three area veterans, Doug Suhonen, Steve Risacher and Tim Bury. The full story is in the Feb. 13 issue of the Voyageur Press.

Congratulations to the Nyberg men on reaching the 1,000-point mark in basketball, starting with grandpa Don, then Dean and his son Dylan, and Uncle Danny.

Due to the continued spread of illness in the Cromwell-Wright School and community, they went to E-learning on Friday, Feb. 16.

Reuben Wenstrom’s Celebration of Life will be held on Feb. 24 at the Rich Cuisine Event Center in Floodwood. A time of sharing memories is at noon, and lunch is 1-3 p.m.

Our sympathies to the family of Ida Eliason Nelson, 91, of Hermantown, Oscar Eliason’s sister. Services were held Feb. 21 at Sunrise Funeral Home in Hermantown.

Lenten services are March 6 and 20 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and Feb. 28, March 13 and 27 at Bethany. Soup supper begins at 5:30 p.m. and worship is at 6:30 p.m.

Yoga is at 11 a.m. Mondays at the Cromwell Pavilion.

Don’t forget that there is cribbage at 6 p.m. every Thursday at the Wright Senior Center. It’s always a good time!

The Minnesota primary is March 5, so ballots need to arrive at the courthouse before that date. Remember, you can’t split your vote, and you need a witness to sign your ballot.

Happy Birthday to Beverly K., 88, who was born on Feb. 29, so this will be her official 22nd birthday.

Did you know that in 1939, poor women were using flour sacks to make clothing for their children, so some flour mills started using flowered fabric for their sacks. I have a quilt top made with some of these printed flour sacks. Maybe I can get some creative person to take the top and finish it into a quilt.

It was interesting to see former industrial arts shop teacher Kyle Chalupsky on TV the other night. He teaches for the Lake Superior School District.

The Cromwell Area Clothing Depot donated a total of $4,210 to area nonprofits including Dollars for Scholars, the food shelf, and the Wrong Days and Harvest Fest steak fries, and several others. The Depot is also holding a free coat and sweater giveaway Feb. 24, 27 and 29 and March 2. Hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Judy and Bill will be at the Villa Vista at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, and Don and Candy will be there at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 28.

There may still be time to get your quilt squares done for the quilt at Villa Vista-Cardinal Court. I hear that the unveiling will be on Mother’s Day.
