Cloquet-82 / Crosby-Ironton-68

Five different Lumberjacks scored in double digits to overcome the Rangers. Leading Cloquet was Adam Schneider with 19 points, both Alec Turnbull and Nathan Blatchford had 17 points while both Dylan Heehn and Tyler Issendorf scored 10 points. Jack Sorenson scored eight and Caleb Hansen finished with one point.

Moose Lake/Willow River-95 / Proctor-42

The Rebels wasted little time in jumping on the Rails at halftime by a 57-25 halftime score and then coasted to the win. Phillip Sheetz scored 22 and Mason Olson added 21 to lead the Rebels. They weren’t the only ones who had hot nights, as a total of 10 different Rebels scored, including Brady Watrin (18), Michael Olson (8), Duane Broughton (7), Ben Dewey and Landin Kurhajetz (5), plus Logan Orvedahl, Carter Johnson and Conner Welch (3).

Cook County-74 / Carlton-42

The Vikings were consistent in their win by outscoring the Bulldogs by 16 points in each half. Four different Vikings were in double-digit scoring led by Ariana Poyirier, who had 21 points. Alaina Bennett led Carlton’s offense with 18 points, but she was the only Bulldog to reach double digits. Also scoring for Carlton were Elizabeth Hey (7), Kaylee Asleson (6), Maddie Decaigney (4), Bella Anderson (3), and both Abby Mickle and Sam Matarelli scored two.

South Ridge-51 / Floodwood-47

The Panthers gained a 10-point halftime advantage and then had to hang on for a four-point win over the pesky Polar Bears to move on to the next round of the playoffs.

Svea Snickers finished with 16 points, Alana Young added 14 and Adelia Olesiak also was in double figures with 13 points. Also scoring for the Panthers were Plylesha Preston (6) and Raina Schneider (2).

Cromwell-Wright-65 / Northeast Range-8

The No. 2 state-ranked Cardinals sprinted to a 43-2 halftime lead over the Nighthawks and moved into the second round of the playoffs led by the 22 points of Taya Hakamaki. Natalie Hakamaki added 10 and Shaily Hakamaki eight points. Also scoring for Cromwell-Wright were Sasch Korpela and Andrea Pocernich (6), Emmalee Hoover (5), Jordan Jokinen (4) and Lace Zoeller (2).

Fond du Lac-87 / Cook County-85

Connor Barney and Jordan Brown finished with 39 and 26 points, respectively, to lead the Ogichidaa to the road win in Grand Marais. FDL led by three at halftime and held on for the victory. Also scoring for the Ojibwe were Jalen Paulson (9), Simon Laprarie (6), Ken Fox (4), Devin Porter (2) and Rolo Defoe (1).

Moose Lake-Willow River-47 / Rush City-66

Brady Watrin and Mason Olson finished with 26 and 23 points, respectively, while Micahel Olson also had a big night with 17 points. Also scoring for the Rebels were Landin Kurhajetz (11), Carter Johnson (7), Phillip Sheetz (5), Logan Orvedahl (3) and Duane Broughton (2).

Esko-84 /Virginia-65

The Eskomos led by just four at halftime, but outscored the Blue Devils by 15 points in the second half. James LeGarde led all scorers with 33 points. Riley Fischer added 20 and Payton Wefel scored 19 for the Eskomos. Also scoring for Esko were Eli Blue (5), Trevor Spindler (2), Cade Berger (4) and Braden Gabel (1).

Two Harbors-41 / Barnum-31

The Agates overcame a four point halftime deficit in defeating the Bombers. Reed Kornovich led Barnum with 10 points, Joseph Peterson scored nine and Blaze Hurst added eight. Jacob Hultgren and William Richardson both scored one.

Ely-83 / Wrenshall-61

The Timberwolves hit 12 3-pointers against the Wrens to pick up the win. Austin Larva led the Wrens with 21 points, Tim Swenson added 14 and Randy Wimmer scored 12. Also scoring for the Wrens were Hunter Holmes (7), Isaiah Johnson (5) and Alex Brownie (2).
