Friends of the Library book sale 12-2 p.m. Friday, Cloquet Public Library.

"One-Dog Canoe” Kinder Konzerts in a Bag kids’ take-and-make kits are available at the Cloquet Public, Carlton Area, Duluth Public and Moose Lake Public libraries. The Kinder Konzerts in a Bag kit was created by the Friends of the Minnesota Orchestra and Arrowhead Library System and contains everything you need to create a musical storytelling experience at home: parents’ guide, “One-Dog Canoe” book, access to videos including the performance and narration of “One-Dog Canoe,” videos of musicians playing and describing their instruments, and materials to make a loon headband and more. While supplies last, one kit per family. This program, sponsored by Arrowhead Library System, was funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

“Owls of Minnesota” campfire program 8-8:30 p.m., Jay Cooke State Park. Discover these silent hunters of the night and learn how nature built a better mousetrap in the form of an owl. SUNDAY, AUGUST 15

“River Animals” children’s program, 11 a.m.-12 p.m., Jay Cooke State Park. Learn about the amazing adaptations of beavers, otters, insects, and other river critters. Take home a fish printing craft made during the program; all art materials supplied. Wear clothes suitable for painting and for the outdoors. MONDAY, AUGUST 16

August Take-N-Make adult kit available at the Cloquet Public Library starting Aug. 16. Create a stylish greeting card with supplies included in the bag. Kits will be available in the library lobby.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 18

Senior dance at the Cloquet VFW 1-4 p.m. with the Chmielewski Funtime Band. Potluck, $8 cover.

Wood City Quilters meets 6 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at the Cloquet library. Guest speakers, community service projects. All quilters welcome.

Cloquet High Classes of ‘65 and ‘66 reunions. Class of ‘65 mixer 6 p.m. Friday at the NorthEastern Saloon & Grille, Class of ‘66 mixer 6 p.m. Friday at Trapper’s Pete’s Steakhouse & Saloon. No charge for the mizers, donations accepted. Joint reunion 6 p.m. Saturday at the Cloquet National Guard Armory with appetizer buffet and cash bar. Reunion registration fee of $15 to be paid by Aug. 13. A Nesting Place meets 1-2 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesdays, virtually on Microsoft Teams. For those in the third semester of pregnancy, and mothers and their infants up to one year, no matter where you live or where your baby was delivered.
