September 29, 2023

Justin Adrian Daniel Eller, 47, of Esko, a very proud U.S. Navy veteran, died unexpectedly in a tragic accident on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023. He was born on May 31, 1976, in Moose Lake to Dan Eller and Susan Cartie. Justin grew up in Mahtowa and graduated in 1994 from Barnum High School with High Honors and proudly wore his cords during graduation. He played a variety of sports as a Bomber. On July 9, 1993, Justin joined the U.S. Navy on a delayed entry, which allowed him to finish high school and also recruit two of his classmates to join him as they left on July 5, 1994, to serve their country. Justin was extremely proud of his service and used all the skills he learned in the Navy to carry him through all his jobs and life. Justin was currently working as a chief inspector at Global Aviation in Duluth. He was a huge sports fan and especially loved all the Minnesota sports teams. He also loved animals, motorcycles, and all kinds of music. Justin will always be remembered as a kind and respectful person to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dan Eller.

Justin will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Susan Cartie; three sisters, Vanessa Korhonen, Sara (Bob) Schnopp and Danielle Eller; godson and special nephew, Zakary Korhonen; stepbrother and special friend, Billy Warren; brothers and their families, Thunderbirds; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Sept. 29 at Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. Military Honors will follow at noon outside the funeral home. Following the Military Honors, we will go in procession to Riverside Cemetery, Moose Lake where Justin will be laid to rest next to his father. A Celebration of Justin's Life will continue at 2 p.m. at Buffalo Tracks (Banning Junction), 60684 State Highway 23 in Finlayson. Memorials are preferred.
