Faith Elizabeth Luing passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024. She was born in Worthington, Minnesota to Donald Hammar and Helen Annabelle on June 21, 1929. She was married to Robert "Bob" Luing on Dec. 3, 1951.

Faith enlisted in the Army in 1950 and served until 1955. She worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center after she was honorably discharged from the Army. Bob and Faith then moved to Mahtowa, where faith farmed and Bob worked at the Cloquet paper mill. Faith was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Cloquet, and Emmanuel Baptist in Duluth. Previously, she attended Mahtowa Covenant, Barnum Community Church, and Temple Baptist in Brainerd. Faith's hobbies and passions included farming, faith, family, cutting wood, and gardening.

She was preceded in death by husband, Robert Luing; grandchildren Jackson Tjaden, Jonathon Luu and Amelia Casey; and sisters Phyllis Hammar and Eleanor Schuck. Faith is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Luing, Mary Beth Luing, Virginia (Brian) Graves, Rachel (Gary) McDonald and Hannah (Thomas) Casey; sons, Philip Hughes-Luing, Basil (Lori) Luing, Joel (Alia) Luing and Titus (Jenny) Luing; sister Mary Ellen Hammar; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

After Bob retired, he cooked and Faith washed the dishes. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Faith's name be made to Grace Church, as it was her desire to purchase a new dishwasher for the church.

Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service April 8, at Grace Church in Cloquet. Burial to follow at 2 p.m. at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery-Duluth in Saginaw.
