The Pine Knot News is always interested in photo captures from readers, whether it be in the wilds or just from everyday life. People and animals and the beauty of nature are welcome.... Full story

  • Budget crunching begins in Carlton

    Mike Creger|Jan 21, 2022

The heavy lifting on cutting away the Carlton school district’s million-dollar budget hole will begin in meetings in February, but the school board on Tuesday showed signs that those cuts will sting — especially for those seeking activities outside the classroom. Pine Knot News|Jan 21, 2022

Kennedy’s inaugural address inspired children and adults to see the importance of civic action and public service. “Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country,” he said, challenging every American to contribute in some way to the public good. That doesn’t mean a person needs to run for political office, or give up their high-paying job to join AmeriCorps: it simply means we all should do our part. Volunteer to plant flowers in the spring, chaperone school trips, help with t...
